;;January 10th;;
Adria walked into the dance studio. It was quiet and dark and she had to fumble to find the light switch. When her fingers finally grasped the switch they flicked it on and light adorned the empty dance studio. She sighed softly and set down he bag. She needed some extra practice time and hated having people watch her practice, she she decided to go when no one was around. She had confidence issues when it came to her dancing and therefore could concentrate so much better by herself. To really make it big on the dance team Adi would need a strong, supportive partner to help her.
She took out her CD collection and put in her mix. Turning up the volume, Adi began to stretch and warm up. She had layered some clothes to get her muscles warm and relaxed before she began her routine. Sprawled out on the floor, Adi did 100 crunches, 50 scissors (ab exercises), and then did the splits.
Now being limber Adria took off her hoodie and set it in the corner and switched the music to the one of her routine. It was When I Grow Up by the Pussycat Dolls. This was a work in progress hip hop routine that she hoped would get her some attention from the dance teacher. The new dancers had been told to choreograph a routine to show off their skills, and so this was what she was working on.

David was quite loving the fact that he was single again. If Maddie didn't want to believe that he had in fact told Ale no, then that was her problem. He had loved her, but then again maybe he was wrong. He was sick of being labeled as the bad guy or bad boyfriend type without a cause. So, what better way to step into his new rebellion than to become the one that he was labeled. He missed being this guy. The guy who got to stay out all night, and find himself in the comfort of the prettiest girls that GMH had to offer. And lets face it, that was a lot of them.
He still kept up with his school work, and he made his way to the dance studio. He had to make sure that he knew his own routines. The Christmas show had been a success. As he got there, he noticed that Adria was there. He smirked and watched as she began the music. "Is this for your new dance?" He asked her curiously as he watched her move. He had to admit that the song had a good beat to it especially for the dance team and what they were looking for.
"Lets see what you have?"He said encouraging to see what moves she had.

Adria smiled to the guy who walked in the door. "Hey there" she said running her fingers through her tangled mess of blond curls. Adi nodded her head and replied to him "Yeah, I thought the beat would be good and easy to dance to." Changin the subject she said "You're David right?" she asked thnking that this was his name. Praying she didn't make a fool of herself. It was hard to remember everyone's name but she had this feeling that she had labled him correctly. Adi had seen him around campus and couldn't help but notice how good looking he was. Damn she thoguht to herself, she was in for a real treat if all the guy dancers looked like him.
She laughed softly. "Alright I'll show you my routine but don't laugh!" she said a sweet grin across her face. Adi strted the music once more and took her starting postition. She began to dance, an erotic combination of hip hop, lyrical, jazz, and ballet. She never was the one to follow rules and stick to one style of dance. She made her own combination and really pulled it off quite well. Every move was made to perfection as she nail every pirrouette, arabesque, leap, and pop. When she was finished she laughed softly and smiled at him. "It still needs work...." she said blushing slightly from the exercise.

He smiled back at her, when she showed him some attention. That's what David loved, getting attention. Though, he turned away from bad attention. He tried not to let things that other people say bother him, and he did a good job about it for the most part. Yet there were times when he didn't do such a good job with that. Like the time that he got into a fight with Chance over Maddie. Though, no one could say anything about his friends. It was a stupid fight, and one he wished never happened. While they said that Chance and David were cool now. There was a rift and there always would be. Fucking Bitches.
He nodded. "The one and only. And I think your right, it does have a good beat to it." He said trying to keep time in his head and going over a few moves he would do himself in it. David was the head of the dance team, and was quite good at putting dances together. After all he wasn't just something yummy to look at, he was something more. Something with a dance style all of his own.
Shaking his head he smiled. " I would never dream of it." He said with a grin plastered on his face. Alright, that was a lie. But it didn't mean that he wouldn't help her if it sucked. Hell, he would help her if it were good. There was always room for improvement. He watched and nodded. "Right, well as the captain of the dance team and head dance boy. I would like to offer some advice if you wouldn't mind?" He asked with a cheeky grin as his eyes waundered over her body. It was hard not to with a body like that.

Being a dancer was not something new to Adi. She had done it for years, but it had taken her till now to decide to join the team. Her background included mostly ballet but a lot of lyrical and hip hop too. Somehow she had managed to squeeze dance into her busy schedual and loved it. She knew she had a tallent for it but never admitted it. This year would be her chance to shine and show the school what she had.
She smiled at David and laughed softly "Head dance boy, that's funny!" she said. Adi took a step closer to David and almost whispered "Lead Male Dancer sounds much sexier.." she said jokingly. "Advice is always taken gladly. Go right ahead." she said intregued. She always liked to hear what others thought. Critisism could only make you better. Adi smiled as she could tell David was checking her out but she didn't care. If anything she enjoyed it, it boosted her confidence.

He shook his head at her comment. "It really doesn't matter to me, it means that same thing." He said laughing. "Now this is what I want you to do. I think for females on the team you should look at some of the dances that I have alot of the females look at. Like one of my favorites is Aaliyah. Mix it up take some of your moves with some of hers. Here look." He said digging out the tape to put into the vcr of the tv that was over head of the mirrors but not up too high.
"Now here. Where she does the dance for we need a resolution. The part where she uses her hands to the left then the right and then over her belt buckle would be perfect into the mix." he said then he played the song she picked over on the music player and thought of where in the song it would go the best. He had it!
"In the start of the song when they are talking. The stage would be completely dark, after each few seconds we shine a different light on, some one you some not on you until your completely visible after the talking is over. Now, when they say I have a confession, use that hand motion and then over on the buckle and move your shoulders in and out as you bring yourself down." He said.
Thats when he had another idea and began playing the song again. "Now when they start to sing and say when I grow up.. essentially the chorus, then pop down. roll your shoulders back and point to the crowd as you pop back up and pull your finger against your face and down your body. Uh, thats just looking at it quickly. So what do you think?' He asked curiously.

She folded her arms across her chest and leaned her weight onto one foot as she watched David and took in what he was saying. Adi valued his advice, after all he was one of the best the dance team had and any advice he gave her would be an improvement. "OK" she said and diverted her attention to the TV screen. Her eyes studded the movements and took them in she was envisioning it in her mind and could totally see how she could pull this off.
Laughing softly Adria stepped beside David and repeated the movements he did. There was just something about the moves that were suggestive and she would add sex appeal to her dance. "So like this?" she asked and replicated what he had recommended to her. She added her own little style to it by how she performed it. Over the years she had learned how to use her body to get maximum attention. She bend over and sat on the ground when she was finished and ran her hands through her hair and smiled at David. She was getting warm and could feel the temperature rise. "Oh this dance would be great if I could get a lot of people as lite backups and a partner for like the part in the middle with no lyrics. " she said, her eyes look up at David.
Switching the subject she asked him "So how did you get into dance?" Adi wanted to know how a popular guy like him picked dance of all sports. Not that there was anything wrong with him dancing, just most guys considered dance to be a girls thing. A stereotype that Adi hated.
